Dash Mini Waffle Maker Review

Dash Mini Waffle Maker Review

Even though there is a Waffle House around every corner in the South, sometimes you just want to make your own waffles at home. There are a ton of models on the market, but today I am looking at one of the smallest ones. Here is my Dash Mini Waffle Maker Review.

Why Mini Waffles?

I purchased this appliance for my wife as a Christmas present last year. It was one of the first purchases I made in the Christmas season. I found it at Target for around $15. It was cute and affordable, and the kids would love having the mini waffles for breakfast. Anything that makes breakfast time with the kiddos easier is something my wife would enjoy!

The mini waffles did end up being a big hit with the children. They actually prefer these to the Eggo Waffles, which quite frankly shocked me. That is a huge point in favor of this unit.

The Dash Mini Waffle Maker

When Dash says mini, they are not kidding! This model creates waffles with a 4″ diameter. However, the waffles have a good thickness to them. They were the perfect size for my 3 and 6-year-old. My kids are on the smallish size, so kids with bigger appetites might need 2. But overall I was happy with the size of the waffles that this model made.

Dash Mini Waffle Maker Review

The Dash is a very simple appliance. There are no buttons, switches, settings, nothing. When you want to make some waffles, you simply plug it in and let it heat up, a process that only takes a couple of minutes. The double-sided non-stick cooking surface has held up very well. We have had no sticking issues so far.

So far I’ve only mentioned waffles, but you can cook a number of things with the Dash. Hashbrowns and cookies are just some of the options you can make with this appliance. One interesting dish we made was a cornbread dressing waffle that we topped with sliced turkey and chicken gravy. It was delicious!

The one area where the Dash comes up short is cleanup. The unit does not come apart. This would be very helpful with the non-stick cooking surfaces. Being able to take them out and give them a proper wash would be nice. Instead, you have to wipe it down as is and just be careful not to wet the electrical components.

The Verdict: Is the Dash Mini Waffle Maker Worth It?

Overall, we are quite happy with this little device. The kids love the mini waffles. My wife loves how simple it is to use. I’m happy that they are happy.

If you already have a waffle maker, this unit isn’t bringing anything new to the table. Unless you have kids that you want to make mini waffles for, or you just want smaller waffles for yourself, there is no need to buy this device as a second unit.

However, if you don’t own a waffle maker and want to experiment with making your own waffles, this is a perfect starter unit. It is ridiculously simple to use and takes up only a tiny amount of space. With a price tag coming in at less than $15, it’s easily worth the purchase.
