Southern Style Banana Pudding Recipe

Spring is in the air. In the South, that means its time for BBQs and low country boils. You’ll need something sweet to counter all that spicy goodness. Today I’m sharing one my family’s favorite warm weather desserts, my Southern Style banana pudding recipe!

Equipment

  • 1 serving dish
  • 1 knife

Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 3 ea bananas
  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix family size
  • 1 tub cool whip
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract optional

Instructions

  • Make vanilla pudding according to the package instructions.
  • Add half the tub of cool whip and half the can of sweetened condensed milk to the pudding mix.
  • Cut the banana into slices roughly the same thickness as the vanilla wafers or to your liking.
  • Place a layer of vanilla wafers on to the bottom of the serving dish.
  • Place a layer of sliced bananas on top of the vanilla wafers.
  • Add some of the vanilla pudding on top of the bananas, but not all as there will be multiple layers.
  • Continue adding wafers, bananas, and pudding until you are out of ingredients.
  • Add the remaining cool whip to the top of the pudding and the dish is complete!
