Super Simple Chili Recipe

Super Simple Chili Recipe

We still have a month of winter left, so I wanted to share a recipe to help keep you warm. What better than a bowl full of chili! This hearty dish is great on a cold winter day. So without further ado, here is my super simple chili recipe.

Ingredients For My Super Simple Chili Recipe

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can of kidney beans
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 package of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar

How To Make Chili

You’ll need a decent-sized pot to contain all the ingredients. Our first step is to brown the ground beef. Break up the meat in the pan and begin cooking on medium-high heat. Continue cooking until all of the pink has disappeared. Once the meat is cooked through, you need to drain the excess grease. However, I would keep a little for flavor.

Once the meat is browned you can begin to add the other ingredients. Throw in the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. After the sauce is in, add the spices. Next up, mix all the ingredients together and turn the heat down to low.

The chili will be ready to eat in as little as 30 minutes. However, you’ll want to simmer this dish a little longer in order to marry the flavors together. Chili is one of those dishes that gets better with time. It will be even better the next day after a night in the fridge.

The Toppings

Super simple chili recipe.

Once your chili has simmered for the appropriate amount of time, you are all done! How easy was that? Of course, its a good idea to get some rice cooking while the chili is simmering. It is going to need a good starch to balance it out. Crackers also work.

While the chili is great on its own, I like mine with some toppings. My favorites include shredded cheddar, diced jalapenos, and hot sauce. If you want your chili hotter from the start, you can add a teaspoon or two of red pepper to the spice mix. And be sure to taste while you cook to get the seasoning right!

And that is my super simple chili recipe. Its nothing fancy, but it is quite tasty and very filling. It is sure to warm you up on those cold winter days!
